Cameron Durrant, MD, MBA
Executive Chairman of the Board
Dr. Durrant is a medically trained MBA who has a unique entrepreneurial background
coupled with major international pharmaceutical and small company CEO experience.
Dr. Durrant has held executive positions at major global pharmaceutical companies,
including Merck & Co., GlaxoSmithKline and Pharmacia Corporation (now part of Pfizer,
Inc.). Most recently, Dr. Durrant spent almost three years as Worldwide Vice President,
Infectious Diseases, Global Strategic Marketing at Johnson & Johnson. He has also
been CEO of two specialty pharmaceutical companies, PediaMed and Spherics. Dr. Durrant
was a regional winner and national finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur
of the Year award in 2005. He holds a MBA from Henley Management College in Oxford,
U.K., a DRCOG from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London,
U.K., a MRCGP from the Royal College of General Practitioners in London, U.K., a
DipCH from the Australian Academy, Melbourne, Australia and an MB and BCh (equivalent
to the American MD degree) from the Welsh National School of Medicine in Cardiff,
U.K.
Hervé de Kergrohen, MD, MBA
Chief Executive Officer and Director
Dr. de Kergrohen is an accomplished senior executive who has successfully founded
and developed numerous life sciences companies throughout his career. With more
than 25 years in senior and executive management positions, including CEO, chairman
or director roles with more than 12 companies in the United States and Europe, Dr.
de Kergrohen has extensive experience in building and transforming organizations.
He played a key role in building the life sciences portfolio with CDC Innovation,
an international venture capital firm with over 415-million Euros under its management.
During his tenure as CEO of Praxim, Dr. de Kergrohen led the company beyond R&D
to become an innovative orthopedic provider and a leader in robotic-assisted surgery.
In 2000, Dr. de Kergrohen co-founded Global Biomedical Partners, the asset management
firm of International Biomedicine Holdings (“IBMH”), a $400-million
fund based in Basel, Switzerland. Under his guidance IBMH became the lead investor
in several emerging biotech companies in the U.S. before they became NASDAQ listed.
Dr. de Kergrohen’s background includes work as a fund manager with public
equity funds such as DH LifeSciences, which he founded while working as the head
analyst at Darier Hentsch & Cie in Geneva. He also led the worldwide healthcare
team of UBS Asset Management, advising the management of $1 trillion in assets.
From 1989 to 1995, Dr. de Kergrohen worked in the U.S. pharmaceutical industry at
Sandoz Pharmaceuticals and GD Searle, holding various positions in drug development
and marketing. Dr. de Kergrohen currently serves as an advisor to various public
organizations such as Eclosion, a Geneva-based biotech incubator that he helped
create, the Handicap Agency in Paris and the United Nations Development Program.
He is the founder of BioData, a biotech conference held annually in Geneva. Dr.
de Kergrohen holds a Medical Degree from Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg
and a MBA from INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France). He has contributed more than 100
articles to various journals around the world.
Harvey Lalach

For the past 21 years, Harvey Lalach has been involved in various aspects of the
securities industry. From 1986 through to 1997, he held various roles in financial
institutions such as TD Bank and BMO Nesbitt Burns. For the past 10 years, Mr. Lalach
has focused exclusively on the operation and administration of numerous start-up
American and Canadian public companies, serving in both Director and Officer capacities.
Mr. Lalach has extensive experience in the management and governance of publicly
listed companies.
Alexandre Vamvakides, Ph.D.
Scientific Founder, Chief Scientific Officer,
Chairman of Scientific Advisory Board
Dr. Vamvakides has spent 30 years in research, focusing on the therapeutic/ pharmacological
areas of nootropes, anti-neurodegenerative (anti-Alzheimer), anti-epileptic, anti-depressive
and prototype molecules. The author of 80+ published scientific papers, he has worked
at the Institut National de la Sante et de la Recherche Medicale in Paris, France,
University of Athens (Greece), Ciba-Geigy (Basel, Switzerland), Sanofi (Montpellier,
France), and many other European research labs for the discovery and development
of new concepts in the therapeutic areas of CNS, oncology and anti-inflammatory
diseases.
George Kalkanis, Ph.D.
Vice President, Strategic Planning
Dr. Kalkanis has 15+ years experience in business modelling and analysis. From 1996
to present, he has been Managing Director of PROACTION LLC, providing consulting
services to managerial decision makers in various sectors, primarily in banking
and finance, equity markets, oil, and pharmaceuticals throughout Europe. In the
pharmaceutical sector, Dr. Kalkanis has provided business forecasting and marketing
analysis solutions to pharmaceutical companies, such as Novartis and Boehringer
Ingelheim.
